Corendon Village Hotel
Corendon Village Hotel is close to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam city center and Zuidas business district. You can be at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport within 7 minutes by car or with the hotel’s free shuttle service. Please note, because of the corona virus, the airport shuttle only runs regularly from 05:00 – 11:00 in the morning until 16:00 – 23:00. Zuidas business district and Amsterdam city center are just a 15-minute drive from the hotel. From the hotel, a City shuttle runs regularly to the Museumplein in Amsterdam in the morning, afternoon and evening. In addition, various tourist attractions such as Keukenhof, Zandvoort and Volendam are within easy reach.
Corendon Village Hotel is located in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, in the town of Badhoevedorp. This place is named after the model farm ‘De Badhoeve’. The village was the largest of the Haarlemmermeer from the late 30’s to the early 70’s. In the area around the hotel in Badhoevedorp there are a number of fun activities to do:
Lorentzplein – Lorentzsquare
This old village street is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Here you will find some shops, including two supermarkets and a drugstore.
Windmill of Sloten & Kuiperij Museum
This windmill is one of the few still operating windmills in the Netherlands. In this place you can learn all about the mill’s technology, the history of Sloten and Oud Osdorp and visit the workshop. A beer brewery and a cheese farm can also be found around the mill.
Marina ‘De Boekanier’
Watersports enthusiasts will have a great day in this marina. You can see small and large boats passing, have a seat on the terrace or visit the fishing shop. This is a nice area to go for a refreshing walk!
Pet Farm ‘De Hoeve’
On this farm, people with a mild to moderate intellectual disabilities work to learn. There are several large and small (agricultural) animals to see and to pet. In addition, there is are a playground with equipment for the children.
Roman Catholic church H.H. Engelbewaarders – ‘H.H. Guardians of the Angel’
This church is an interbellum church dated from 1937, a three-aisled basilica church with a ‘gable roof tower’, the style is inspired by Romanesque architecture.
The playground in Badhoevedorp is the place for children between the ages of 3 and 15. There are many playground equipments here, and of course there are also plenty of seating areas for the parents with a good view of the children playing.
Badhoevedorp also has a rich green environment, with many beautiful walking routes around the hotel. For example, walking routes along the liberation monument, the artworks “two acrobats”, “two birds on a pink column” and the resistance monument in the Snipstraat. The Amsterdam Forest (Het Amsterdamse Bos) is also worth a visit, with all its meadows and activities, such as the goat farm, horse riding and the climbing park. The blossom park with 400 cherry trees also blooms beautifully in the spring.
