Coronavirus update – 13th of April 2021

As Corendon Hotels & Resorts, since the day we were founded, our highest priority has been to give our guests a safe and pleasant stay. We always put the safety and well-being of our guests and employees first, under all circumstances. That is why we would like to inform you about the measures we have taken against the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19), that has raised concern all around the world.

The Dutch government has therefore decided that the Netherlands will remain in lockdown until at least April 28th inclusive. This means we must have as little contact with others as possible, so that the virus cannot spread as quickly. The restaurants & bars, spa & wellness* and any other hotel facilities will remain closed until at least April 28th. However, our hotels will remain open, but hotel restaurants will be closed and room service will be unavailable. Food service is only allowed by take away service.

It is possible again to book a spa treatment. Please visit the Vitality Spa Amsterdam or Village Spa for more information.

If you stay in our hotels, the existing measures will still apply. Guests must keep a distance of 1.5 meters from each other and are required to wear a face mask in the hotel.

As concerns regarding the coronavirus continues to grow, we understand you are forced to rethink plans and make changes.

For guests who have a direct room reservation via www.corendonhotels.com, please contact the hotel, so we can assist you and help you find the right solution.

If you have made the booking via a travel agent, another booking site or other third parties you must contact this organization.

Restaurant reservations can be easily canceled or changed via the confirmation email you have received. If you want to cancel or change a Social Deal Reservation, please contact Social Deal customer service.

The restaurants and bars will remain closed until at least April 28th. However, our hotels will remain open, but hotel restaurants will be closed and room service will be unavailable. Food service is only allowed by take away service.

Natural disasters and epidemics are excluded from almost any insurance policy. We advise you to contact your own insurance.

We have taken additional measures, developed in consultation with global and local public health authorities (RIVM):

  • We make sure our entire hotel staff will receive up-to-date briefings and enhanced operating protocols.
  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning in our entire hotel. All public areas (including lobby elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.), reception desks, contact points are being disinfected every hour with the use of hospital-grade disinfectant.
  • The advice of the Dutch government and RIVM is leading.
  • In all our hotels there are antibacterial hand sanitizers at your disposal.
  • There is signage placed throughout the public areas to inform guest about safety measures.
  • Hosts are available to supervise traffic and inform guests accordingly.
  • Visuals with information about the virus is visible on TV screens and on the floor.
  • We would also prefer that transactions take place mainly with a debit card. Exception: cash handling is only possible at one designated desk at reception.

Housekeeping measures:

  • Room attendants and supervisors wears gloves and face mask.
  • Rooms are only cleaned when the guest is not in the room.
  • We use Ozonwater, a sustainable cleaning product that kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.
  • We are investigating several options to disinfect pillows and bedlinen, including Ozon treatment and UV treatment.
  • Do not clean my room during my stay is available. Guest can inform front office at arrival and place do not disturb hanger on the door.
  • Room keys are disinfected with Ozon.
  • In-room prints will be minimized.

The hotel has a self-service check-in and check-out desk. We try to avoid personal contact as much as possible. The front desk will be cleaned after every guest.

The health of our hotel guests and visitors is our highest priority at the moment. We closely follow the information from the World Health Organization and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in the Netherlands. Changes to measures are listed on this website.

For questions regarding your flight back home, please contact your travel organization or airline.

  • Clean your hands often. Disinfection stands are available in the hotel
  • Cough and sneeze on the inside of your elbow
  • Use a tissue for coughs and sneeze
  • Don’t shake hands
  • Stay home if you feel sick.
  • Avid gathering of 100 people or more
  • Always keep a good distance from other people (at least 1.5 metres)

FAQ Corendon Village Hotel Amsterdam

You can cancel or change your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the day of arrival by sending an email to reservations.village@corendonhotels.com. Mention the new date for which you wish to change. Changing a date is possible with the latest check-out date 31-03-2021. If you choose a date with a higher rate, you will have to pay the difference.

Whether you can change your booking depends on the booking conditions you have chosen. Contact the travel agent where you booked, they can assist you further.

During your stay you can order your breakfast, lunch and dinner online via the room telephone and pick it up at the lobby bar. You can also order drinks here. It is allowed to use alcohol in the hotel room (for example from the mini fridge). You will receive more information at check-in.

The Bazar, mini supermarket, remains open until 11 p.m. Alcohol may also be sold there until 8 p.m.

Yes, the free hotel shuttle service from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to the hotel and vice versa continues to operate on set time from 06:30 – 20:00. More information can be found on this page.
