Coronavirus update – 4th of November 2020

As Corendon Hotels & Resorts, since the day we were founded, our highest priority has been to give our guests a safe and pleasant stay. We always put the safety and well-being of our guests and employees first, under all circumstances. That is why we would like to inform you about the measures we have taken against the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19), that has raised concern all around the world.

On Tuesday the 13th of September, the Dutch government announced again a number of (new) measures to prevent further spread of the corona virus.

  • Restaurants are not allowed to welcome hotel guests after 9 p.m. and must close at 10 p.m. Only hotel guests are welcome. 
  • Consuming or serving alcoholic beverages is no longer allowed in our restaurants & bars after 8 p.m.
  • Bars must be close at 12 a.m. Only hotel guests are welcome. 
  • Per area inside, a maximum of 30 people is allowed for external guests (with mandatory registration);
  • Wearing a face mask is obligated in the hotel.
  1. Visitors must make a reservation or register beforehand through our website;
  2. A check will take place first to assess possible health risks;
  3. In all cases people must be able to stay 1.5 metres apart.

As concerns regarding the coronavirus continues to grow, we understand you are forced to rethink plans and make changes.

If you have made the booking via a travel agent, another booking site or other third parties you must contact this organization.

Restaurant reservations can be easily canceled or changed via the confirmation email you have received. If you want to cancel or change a Social Deal Reservation, please contact Social Deal customer service.

Due to the new measures by the Dutch government, which take effect from Wednesday 14 October at 10 p.m., non-hotel guests are unfortunately no longer welcome in the Restaurants & Bars in our Hotels. Contact us on traf Social Deal if you want to cancel or change your reservation.

Natural disasters and epidemics are excluded from almost any insurance policy. We advise you to contact your own insurance.

We have taken additional measures, developed in consultation with global and local public health authorities (RIVM):

  • We make sure our entire hotel staff will receive up-to-date briefings and enhanced operating protocols.
  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning in our entire hotel. All public areas (including lobby elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.), reception desks, contact points are being disinfected every hour with the use of hospital-grade disinfectant.
  • The advice of the Dutch government and RIVM is leading.
  • In all our hotels there are antibacterial hand sanitizers at your disposal.
  • There is signage placed throughout the public areas to inform guest about safety measures.
  • Hosts are available to supervise traffic and inform guests accordingly.
  • Visuals with information about the virus is visible on TV screens and on the floor.
  • We would also prefer that transactions take place mainly with a debit card. Exception: cash handling is only possible at one designated desk at reception.

Housekeeping measures:

  • Room attendants and supervisors wears gloves and face mask.
  • Rooms are only cleaned when the guest is not in the room.
  • We use Ozonwater, a sustainable cleaning product that kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.
  • We are investigating several options to disinfect pillows and bedlinen, including Ozon treatment and UV treatment.
  • Do not clean my room during my stay is available. Guest can inform front office at arrival and place do not disturb hanger on the door.
  • Room keys are disinfected with Ozon.
  • In-room prints will be minimized.

Please note, our restaurants & bars are temporarily closed for non-hotel guests to ensure the 1.5 meter distance in Corendon Village Hotel. Hotel guests are allowed to use all our facilities, such as the restaurants, bars and cinema. If you book your stay at the Corendon Village Hotel Amsterdam, you have the ability to visit the facilities.

The hotel has a self-service check-in and check-out desk. We try to avoid personal contact as much as possible. The front desk will be cleaned after every guest.

The Corendon Cinema is only available to hotel guests. The safety and health of our guests and employees always comes first. Measures have therefore been taken to comply with the 1.5 meter distance and the limit of 30 visitors in the hall. The auditorium, seats, cup holders, tables and contact points are also cleaned after each film screening.

We will continue to do our utmost to provide a safe and enjoyable cinema experience to our visitors and hope that we will be able to use the entire theater again as soon as possible.

Corendon Village Hotel Amsterdam

To use Village Spa and Fitness it is necessary to book in advance. This can be done after check-in, in person at the Spa reception or by phone from the room by dialing 4994.

To enforce these rules, we have set the following limits:
Swimming pool: up to 14 people
Steam bath: maximum 4 persons
Sauna: maximum 4 persons
Fitness: up to 6 people

Appropriate swimwear and slippers are mandatory. Lockers rooms cannot be used except the restrooms.

The health of our hotel guests and visitors is our highest priority at the moment. We closely follow the information from the World Health Organization and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in the Netherlands. Changes to measures are listed on this website.

Yes, the free hotel shuttle service from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to the hotel and vice versa continues to operate on set time from 06:30 – 20:00. More information can be found on this page.

Please note, from the 1st of June,  wearing face masks in public transport is mandatory for travellers. You can purchase a mask at our lobby shop (Bazar) in the hotel.

For questions regarding your flight back home, please contact your travel organization or airline.

  • Clean your hands often. Disinfection stands are available in the hotel
  • Cough and sneeze on the inside of your elbow
  • Use a tissue for coughs and sneeze
  • Don’t shake hands
  • Stay home if you feel sick.
  • Avid gathering of 100 people or more
  • Always keep a good distance from other people (at least 1.5 metres)

Measures restaurants, terraces and bars

You must make your restaurant, bar or terrace reservation in advance. Upon arrival, a health check will be used to determine whether there are any health risks. If a question is answered with a ‘yes’, access will be denied.

Did you or anyone in your household have in the last 24h:

      • Coughing, nose cold related symptoms, fever of 38C or higher or shortness of breath ?
      • Did you already have corona and was this diagnosed within the last 7 days.
      • Did someone in your household have corona en were you in contact with they the last 14 days while they still had symptoms.

Below you can find the other measures that will be taken in our restaurants, bars and terraces:

  • 1,5 meters distance between tables and guests.
  • Wearing a face mask in mandatory for hotel guests.
  • A maximum of four guests can sit together at a table, with the exception of a shared household consisting of more people.
  • Hosts will appoint table.
  • Hand sanitzier dispenser at entrance and must be used to enter the restaurant.
  • Staff members wears gloves.
  • Daily briefing for staff regarding health and safety.
  • Advance reservations are mandatory.
  • Designated routing in the restaurant.
  • Payment via pin/credit cards only. Exception: cash handling is only possible at one designated desk at reception.

Please note, our restaurants & bars are temporarily closed for non-hotel guests to ensure the 1.5 meter distance in Corendon Village Hotel. Hotel guests are allowed to use all our facilities, such as the restaurants, bars and cinema. If you book your stay at the Corendon Village Hotel Amsterdam, you have the ability to visit the facilities.

You can sit alone on the terrace. Here too there is a minimum of one and a half meters and the rule applies for four people (with the exception of larger households) and table service if the check shows that there are no health risks.
Transactions take place exclusively with a debit or credit card. Exception: cash payments are only made at one designated counter at the reception.

In the hotel it is mandatory to wear a mouth mask, including on our terraces.

Also for our bars you have to book in advance and there is a check-up meeting for the health risks upon arrival. A maximum of four people may sit next to each other at the bar, with the exception of larger households. If you have the space at the bar, four people are allowed to sit one and a half meters further.
Transactions take place exclusively with a debit or credit card. Exception: cash payments are only made at one designated counter at the reception.

In the hotel it is mandatory to wear a mouth mask, including in the bars.

At the health risk check when booking one of our catering establishments, the following questions are asked. If the answer to any of the questions is “yes”, you should stay at home.

  1. Cough, cold in the nose, fever from 38 degrees or shortness of breath. Did you have one or more of these complaints in the past 24 hours?
  2. Do you currently have a housemate with a fever and / or shortness of breath?
  3. Have you had the new coronavirus and has it been diagnosed in the past 7 days?
  4. Do you have a housemate / family member with the new coronavirus and have you been in contact with him / her in the past 14 days while he / she still had complaints?
  5. Are you in home isolation because you have had direct contact with someone who has been diagnosed with the new corona virus?
  6. And / or do you have a sudden loss of smell or taste?

FAQ The College Hotel

From Monday, November the 9th, The College Hotel Amsterdam will close its doors on weekdays from Monday to Thursday. This means that the hotel is open for hotel guests from Friday 12 p.m. until Sunday 12 p.m.
