During Turkish Tennis Federation President Şafak Müderrisgil’s visit to Corendon Tennis Club Kemer, new projects aimed at introducing children to tennis and plans for international tennis events in Kemer were among the key topics discussed.

Şafak Müderrisgil, President of the Turkish Tennis Federation (TTF), visited Corendon Tennis Club Kemer together with Yavuz Gürhan, Antalya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, and İlkay Kaya, Kemer District Director of Youth and Sports.

The delegation toured the club’s facilities in Göynük, where the Taurus Mountains meet the Mediterranean and 14 clay courts are surrounded by pine trees. During the visit, they were briefed on the current facilities and activities of Corendon Tennis Club Kemer, as well as the planned Padel and Sports Facility Project.

Following the visit, a meeting was held at Corendon Playa Kemer Hotel, attended by Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu, Kemer Municipal Council Member Cansın Efir, and Kemer District Director of National Education Mehmet Erkan Ergen.

Bringing Tennis to Children and Young People

The main agenda of the meeting focused on the “Haydi Tenise” (“Let’s Play Tennis”) and “Tennis Secondary School in Göynük” projects, both targeted for launch in 2027.

As part of the “Haydi Tenise” project led by the Turkish Tennis Federation, the first phase is expected to involve talent scouting in Kemer and the surrounding area. Children identified through the scouting process are planned to be introduced to tennis at Corendon Tennis Club Kemer, subject to the facility’s capacity, with their development supported through regular training programmes.

The projects are expected to be carried out with the support of the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Kemer Municipality, and Kemer District Directorate of National Education. During the meeting, the parties discussed the contributions each institution could provide and the roadmap for implementation.

A Tennis Class Planned for Göynük Secondary School

The “Tennis Secondary School in Göynük” project aims to establish a dedicated tennis class at Göynük Secondary School by September 2027. Students and young athletes selected for the project are expected to receive regular tennis training at the facilities of Corendon Tennis Club Kemer.

Both projects aim to introduce children to tennis at an early age, identify talented young athletes, and strengthen the tennis infrastructure across the region.

Kemer Prepares for International Tennis Events

The meeting also addressed international tennis events that Corendon plans to organise in Kemer, particularly before and after the main tourism season. Potential events that could be held with the support of the Turkish Tennis Federation, as well as new opportunities for cooperation, were discussed.

Şafak Müderrisgil and the accompanying delegation were invited to the Corendon Tennis Weekend, which will take place at Corendon Tennis Club Kemer from 19–23 October 2026, as well as upcoming TEN-PRO events to be hosted by the club.

Through partnerships with public institutions, local authorities, and the Turkish Tennis Federation, Corendon Tennis Club Kemer aims to increase access to tennis for children and young people, contribute to the development of new athletes, and establish Kemer as one of the leading destinations for international tennis events.

Through national and international tournaments, training camps, and athlete-focused events, Corendon Tennis Club Kemer aims to contribute to positioning Antalya as one of the Mediterranean’s emerging destinations for tennis and sports tourism.
